JOHANNES KAUTTER
THE STORY AS I KNOW IT
Johannes Kautter was born about 1695 probably in
Bissingen an der Teck, Wurttemberg, Germany.
              His parents are unknown.

Johannes wed his wife, Anna
Braster or Diener on Feb. 10, 1722 in
Bissingen an der Teck.  This and most of the
following documentation is from the Western European
church Records Compilation from LDS.  I also
have a copy of the written records and her last name was
nearly impossible to read.  The curious thing is the
(or Diener)  Her family must have been in the
              process of changing their name.

The wedding to Anna was Johannes 2nd
marriage.  The father's name is always given on a
first marriage, but not the 2nd.  Thus I don't know
              his father's name.

A Maier Genealogy was written in the 1930's while a family member was living in Germany. He studied and made copies of the original church records. The Maier family dates back to 1555. Almost all the people listed were born, married and died in Bissingen an der Teck. I also have a copy of the church records of Bissingen The handwriting is in old German and the spelling varies but the detail matches what had been discovered in the 1930s.
The church records found at the LDS library list  6
known children of Johannes Kautter and Anna,
              all girls.  They were:
              1. Maria Ursula Kautter
              born April 7, 1723
              2.  Anna Barbara Kautter born 1724
              3.  Anna Maria Kautter born 1726
              4.  Anna Kautter born 1729
              5.  Dorothea Kautter born 1733
              6.  Elisabetha Margaretha Kautter born 1737

In the area around Stuttgart, there are 3 towns that
could fit the name "Bissingen". They are Bissingen,
Bisingen, and Bissingen an der Teck. After a
careful study of the 1930's document came to believe it is
the Bissingen an der Teck. We eventually visited the
lovely village and found we were right.  Close by
there is a Dettingen unter Teck. It is the home of other
relatives. These villages are south east of Stuttgart.

The village is surrounded by farm fields and orchards.
Most people in the village worked the crops.  We
assume Johannes did also.  We don't know when he died
but it would have been after 1737
