JANE WADDY
THE STORY AS I KNOW IT.
Jane Waddy was born about 1700. Her father
may have been Samuel
Waddy. Mother may have been Ann or Rebecca Williams.
Nothing is confirmed about him.
The St. Peter's Parish records show that Samuel Waddy
was carpenter for the church from at least 1689 to
1702. The records show requests for him to build
pews, and help maintain the road during those years.
An Ancestry.com entry from mspw45a@prodigy.com had the
information that Jane was born in 1684 and christened at St. Peters Parish
in New Kent
county Virginia. but a record in the
Register dated Jan 15, 1687/8 on page 446, notes
that Jane, daughter of Sam Waddy had died,
less then 2 weeks after her brother Sam jr.
For a later baby to be named the same as a deceased child
was very common, so I hold that it is possible. But
there seem to be no church records of our Jane.
Jane Waddy married William
Street about 1710 probably in Virginia. They
are said to have had five children:
1. John Street born about 1711 maybe in Somerset
England
2. Rachel Street born about 1712
3. William Street born about 1714
4 Anthony Street born
1717 in King William county wed Elizabeth
Brockman
5. Joseph Street born 1720
William died 1752 in Caroline County Virginia. It is not
known when Jane died. There is suppose to be a
Carolina County Will filed for William Street in
1752. I need to find that will.
