THOMAS NICHOLS
THE STORY AS I KNOW IT
Thomas Nichols was born about 1680. It is unknown where he was from but he settled in New Castle Delaware. The Delaware IGI states that he married Mary Ludford July 13, 1704 in New Castle. I do not have the source materials.
It is believed they had at least three children:
1. Mary Nichols, born about
1705, who married 3 times, the 2nd time to Thomas
Hayes.
2. Thomas Nichols born about 1710 who married Lydia
Hayes.
3. Ann Nichols born about 1710 who married Isaac
Dixon, and then William Tate.
Thomas Nichols Jr. was from New Castle Delaware. Thomas Hayes and Lydia Hayes were siblings.
All this information is recorded in a book Chester and Delaware Counties. It includes biographies of leading historical families. This information is found under the Hayes family in Volume 1.
The Quaker marriage Record state that when Mary Nichols wed for
the first time in 1730, that she was the daughter of Mary Nichols, widow.
Therefore, Thomas
Nichols must have died between 1710 and 1730.Kennet Monthly meeting
