CHRISTINA
OSBOROUGH
Christina Osborough was born about 1660 in Ireland. An ancestor file dated 1998 has a pedigree chart that Gavin Dudgeon and Christina Osborough to be parents to John Dudgeon. I have no idea where these names came from nor have I found them anywhere else. If you can confirm this info, please CONTACT US.
If we assume this is correct then she was probably
from County Derry or County Antrim, the two northern
counties of present day North Ireland. We have
no idea who her parents were.
Continuing with the assumption of truth without
documentation Christina would have married Gavin
Dudgeon about 1685. One source on Roots gave a
number of Presbytery sounding references. I'm trying
to get more information. But according to what there
is the family lived in North West Omagn, which is
Tyrone County, currently Northern Ireland.
Gavin Dudgeon was a leader in the church and called
to serve as an elder July 3, 1678.
The only child connected to the couple so far is John
Dudgeon born about 1690. John married Catherine
Caldwell. They were of a family group that
emigrated to America in 1727.
The group consisted of John
& Margaret Caldwell, their five children,
their two brother-in-laws and their families: Moore
Richey, John Dudgeon and Margaret's
sisters family, the Daughertys. They landed
at New Castle
Delaware on Dec 10, 1727. According to a document
found in the Logan County, KY library entitled Family History,
Caldwell.
It is not known when either Christian Osborough
Dudgeon or Gavin Dudgeon died.
